Synopsis- Once his mother is murdered by a vampire. Young Abraham Lincoln seeks his revenge- little did he know that true revenge will lead not only him but a nation into turmoil.
From the minds of filmmakers, Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov- they retell a classic but time honored hero who is far from perfect but who chops and slices his way into history. Rather than making the vampires the likes of Twilight (broody) or Bram Stoker (tragic) these vampires are modern day-demons. They can walk in sunlight, are pretty pleasant people and hold regular job.
What may have made this film good was that we were introduced to a bunch of low-level celebrities. We did not see a celebrity trying to play a part- we just saw the part because we did not know the lead nor any of the other character that well and that made this movie even that much more enjoyable.
To say that this film is intense is an absolute understatement. We went in expecting a B-film and cam out proud of a film that dared to weave historical accuracy with visual effect, grit, explosions and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
This film, was surprisingly good but is not for children. The terrifying images, bloody scene and overall craziness of the film will have children having nightmares for nights to come. The films natural history intertwined with the premise makes for an entertaining spin on out nations development. For adults, its a well spent Friday night, with all the action, suspense and blood-thirst for any film.
