Wonder Woman: Animated Cartoon 75min of Feminism Crap

I like many others would argue that in the last 50 years we have seen a role reversal in which boys are now encouraged to get in touch with their feminine side and be everything but manly and girls being encouraged to be the next Xena: Warrior Princess but at what point does this sort of role reversal become unhealthy for both sexes.

First, Wonder Woman the Animated Cartoon is not for kids. The dialogue and the references may be a little more mature than some young children can handle. The film itself, had a rough time coming to DVD with the Great Joss Whedon (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Firefly) giving up on the project. However, somehow this film made it, albeit, direct-to-dvd but ‘she’ made it.

Produced by Bruce Timm, and featuring a star studded cast ( Keri Russell) as Wonder Woman (Diana), (Nathan Fillion) as Steve Trevor, (Alfred Molina) as Ares- the God of War, and (Rosario Dawson) as Artemis, Wonder Woman is chalk full of talent but fails epically at being more of an action cartoon rather than an entire advertisement for womens liberation.

So where does Wonder Woman stand? Well, it does a great job introducing ‘newbies’ to everything Wonder Woman, in that, she was created out of sand, she was raised an Amazon (to be more exact an island called Themyscira or what I call Lesbian Isle), her mother- Hippolyta- killed her older brother (during a very talkative battle in which she suggests Aries fighting and the sex she had with him was lacking)- yea, I am serious.

Honestly, at first I thought she was raped but her Mom had a thing for ‘bad boys’- I am not kidding. So, Hippolyta killed her biological son/demon spawn whose babies daddy was Aries- and yes he was upset when she killed him. But she traded him in for a Beach Sand Baby- Wonder Woman’s Daddy was Beach Sand (no child support payments coming from there). I am completely serious.

Living on Lesbain Isle (Themyscira), Wonder Woman is taught guys suck and women rule. Lesbian Isle Paradise (Themyscira) is disrupted when an American fighter penis- I mean pilot- lands on the Island after one of the lesbians uncloaks it to help get Aries back to modern times (or the land of the Penis’s) I truly wish I were kidding. To backtrack Aries is imprisoned on the Island after a Battle in which Hera and Zeus- make him a prisoner to Hippolyta as retribution for the many Amazonian lives lost in an opening epic battle that features a lot of cartoon blood and mangled bodies.

The movie had way too much feminist baloney and not enough substance to be interesting. Yes, in the end the women learn to trust men again and after 75 minutes of ultra-feminist banter and a few too many sex jokes – I found myself rolling my eyes and checking to see how much more of this I had left.

This film sucked! Not even its role reversal of making the blonde woman bad and the black haired woman good was enough to save this movie from the nearest dump bin. The dialogue is immature and tedious at best and the animation lacked quality. Overall, I would say this movie is an absolute 75+ minutes of waste because while viewing you will stop it (many times) to change the oil in your car, clean your windows, underwater basket weave etc.More reviews Online at http://www.moviescribes.com.
