Why I refuse to watch The Hunger Games

Yes, I will agree this film looks incredibly interesting but I feel the studios have been jamming this film down our throats- much like the Harry Potter and Twilight series. I understand, they want the film to perform well to bankroll their crappy adaptation of a movie. Let’s be honest, anyone who has picked up the actual book can relate to the fact that often times the movies is a watered downed- puny version of the actual book.

No matte how hard Hollywood tries they have yet to produce a cinematographic great like that of Gone with the Wind or a child star like Shirley Temple. I think it hiliarious at how easy the media can manipulate the masses into watching a film and spending millions of moments of their life reading useless and irrelevant facts and information on people who would care less about you and your real life problems. Keep in mind, they want to world to stop once they admit they are or have struggled with a drinking problem or was abused as a kid. To add insult to injury, they than want to continually pat themselves on the back as they laugh their way from one award show to the next- are we really that stupid.

Look, I am sure Hunger Games is a fantastic film but the only time I will see this film is already streamed through some movie streaming service I use or if I am paid to go- to which I will kindly decline and catch the lesser known-less financial capable film.

Its sad, that much like political office, the only way an ‘average joe’ can make it in todays world is to be related to someone with money, sleep with them or do all sorts of nastiness to keep your film afloart- yet we fail to support these independent film studios and when we do we constantly remind the cast and crew they are no 20 Century Fox or network. Well, much like in politics we will continue to get the same old, same old until we decides to put our hard earned dollars where they belong and that is not in the hand of Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill or another celebrity. It means voting with you mind, will and emotions and refusing to allow Hollywood to dictate to you what is God and sensational.
