Why so much complaining about Netflix?

When we hear the complaints about the recent changes at our partners at Netflix we think, if you are so fed up- start your own Netflix like company and see what it is really like.

Often times consumers fail to realize that things change for a reason, some times its social, economical but often times its financial. Although, we all may have enjoyed the convenience of something several years a go- its different today and there are hardly any “Constitutional Rights’ when it comes to raising and lowering customer rates especially in the movie business.

Put simply, it’s ridiculously hard to try and fund a business based on the business model of giving away more free amenities then charging for them. What may be free to you- cost somebody somewhere something? As a business we do what we can to not transfer this burden on to you but sometimes its a necessary inconvenience.

Additionally, we have had the issue here at Movie Scribes- people love free stuff- but when you solicit for a donation- all of a sudden we hear the crickets. I am sorry to inform not only Movie Scribes users, but also our Netlfix users- its hard to do business in this economy and its even harder when half your target audience is unemployed and can’t ‘spare a dollar’.

In these sorts of situations we tend to think about the consumer and not about the employer. What about the hundreds of people that work at Netflix?- maybe the current employees want a raise or maybe Netflix wishes to hire more people but to do that they may need to raise prices or change their previous business model. Maybe the studios are charging more for their releases- either way, we all need to do a little less complaining and more supporting each other because we don’t see it all.

Often times when speaking in our own Board Meetings- we have to stress to our users and our staff that there is no purpose in having 5-million users that are neither clicking on the advertisements nor buying the products and services on the website.

Yes, a business can have a huge audience but if they are underpaying for the products and services- how can the business survive? Our own CEO of Carleshia Corporation, said

“What is the purpose in appealing to millions but struggling to pay the business light bill? It may appear that we are ‘cutting off our nose in spite of our face’ but their is a difference between charity and business and I started this as a business. In America, this entitlement mindset has run this country in the ground. Individually, your pay your bills from your earnings from a business- not a charity.

We must return to the days were we pay or at least offer to pay for everything we get. If anything the Great Depression, The War’s, and The Revolutions have taught us and that is that we are guaranteed very little in this world, so, we all must sacrifice and or (at times) inconvenience ourselves to make it a better place.

A business can’t just be successful it must also be profitable- and the key to any business whether non-profit or commercial is profitability ( or simple cash flow). You know why unemployment is so high, because the fact remains someone has to pay for something. For instance, to have a quality website we need quality writers- somebody needs to pay the writers. To keep the website operational we have to pay our developers, to keep the advertisements at a non-annoying rate etc. etc. Look, we know times are tough for many people- but it will be even tougher if we don’t continue to help one another build, develop, grow and prosper.”

That’s why Movie Scribes has agreed to set aside a portion of the proceeds whether donated, gleaned from advertisements etc to give back to our stuggling users. Starting in the month of November, we will choose a user each month to receive their choice of a cash prize, giveaway, gift, movie etc.

It is in this way Movie Scribes is choosing to give back to our subscribed users. Stay tuned for me details!
